A Unusual Season of Gratitude

Here in the MidWest we are intimately acquainted with the rhythm of the seasons. The golden fall light brings a special autumn cast to every evening and a particular clarity to cerulean daytime skies. And we are always aware of the harvest taking place nearby as well as the bounty being received and about to be shared with the world.
This year many family and friend gatherings will be interrupted, restructured, unrecognizable from our usual personal traditions. Meals may be smaller and therefore absent of some of those annual delicacies we normally prepare. Fewer chairs may surround the table. Gift giving may be more distant and feel more impersonal. Or suspended altogether. The inability to share stories and memories may make the usual nostalgia feel more like sadness or loneliness.
On the other hand, long needed changes in plans and priorities may bring more peace and serenity to your family. May this be so for you!

Despite the turmoil of this year, I have so, so much for which to be grateful. Among my blessings are those which come with being an artist. I have found my passion, something I had come to believe would never happen, and I always have something fulfilling to do as a result. I have made dear, close friends with people I would never have known. And I have a community of supporters that include friends near and far, long time and rediscovered.
A saying I have heard and now want to embrace is "Don't just count your blessings, share them." I have no idea to whom I should attribute this. If you do, please tell me! In thinking about sharing my blessings I have thought about how to share them with YOU! My plans thus far are below.
1. I have sent little thank you packets with notecards and coupons to my patrons who encouraged me with their purchases and words throughout the year. The least I can do!
2. I am offering all of my newsletter subscribers a 20% off coupon for purchases made from now through January 2. Join my newsletter and I'll send yours out pronto.
3. I have added a Notecards section to my Art Portfolio here on the website. These blank 5x7 photo cards of my original art are very accessibly priced and can be mailed or framed. If you don't see the one you want, or want more than one of a particular kind (I'm working on making this easier) just contact me and I'll fill your custom order as soon as possible.
